All our real ales are local and are served straight from the barrel. We alternate between ales from Waylands Brewery in Sixpenny Handley, Ringwood, Butcombe, Yeovil Ales, Corfe Castle and Exmoor breweries.

We keep two keg ciders, Thatchers Gold and Stowford Press as well as local bottled ciders from Perry's of Dowlish Wake near Illminster who have won 12 national awards for their ciders. We stock their single variety ciders, Dabinett, Redstreak, Tremlett and Morgan as well as their vintage and farm pressed ones.

Draught lagers are Kronenbourg 1664, Carling and Coors Light. We also have draught Guiness.

We keep a wide range of bottled soft drinks including Bottlegreen ,Fenteman’s, Frobisher's,J20s and Orangina. During the summer we make our own elderflower and lemon cordial.

We have a good selection of new world wines from Chile - Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot, South Eastern Austalian Chardonnay and Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon.

European wines include Rioja Temperanillo, Chemins des Dames blanc de blancs demi- sec, Garganega Pinot Grigio and Pinot Grigio Rose . All wines are sold by the bottle or glass.

We had a really good family lunch in this inn last Tuesday. Nine of us, including three small children, had a wide range of dishes. The fish meals were simply excellent - fresh and tasty - and so was the Aberdeen Angus steak. All meals were freshly prepared and were served in a very pleasant, obliging and timely fashion by the staff. Langton Herring is a delightful quiet backwater - so if you want a really good meal in pleasant surroundings The Elm Tree is certainly well worth a visit!
